I've been practicing yoga on and off since I was 13. My mum took me to a class in Rosehearty, near Fraserburgh. I guess my yoga journey started there.
As my life changed and I moved around I always looked for a yoga class so that I could learn from different yoga teachers, it also meant I would meet like minded people.
I was lucky enough to spend some time in Anglesey in Wales in my 40's and I met a couple of amazing teachers, Vee Deville and Elaine Powell. Vee was in her 80's and still teaching a few classes a week and Elaine was a British Wheel of yoga instructor. With their guidance I trained to be a British Wheel of Yoga teacher. It took 2 years to complete the course which I loved.
I have been on several yoga courses since then and try to go on a yoga retreat every year. The older I get the more important I feel simple movements are as well as breath work. My personal practice has changed and so have my classes. Self care and sharing positive energy are now top of my list.
